Overview
Black mass is the powder obtained after discharging, dismantling, shredding and sorting retired lithium-ion batteries, enriched in lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese and graphite. Pricing is normally based on combined Ni-Co-Mn and lithium content, with copper, aluminum, fluorine and moisture as the main penalties.
- Li 2.0–4.0%
- Ni+Co+Mn 15–35%
- Priced on elemental content
